Johnson Controls Unveils Integrated Perimeter Platform at ISC West

Johnson Controls used ISC West 2025 to demonstrate an end-to-end security platform combining Kantech access control, Exacq video management, DSC intrusion detection, and Illustra cameras in a single integrated ecosystem.

The platform positions Johnson Controls as a one-vendor solution for sites seeking converged physical security without the integration complexity of multi-vendor deployments. For perimeter applications, the DSC intrusion detection layer provides zone-based alarm management, while Illustra cameras and Exacq VMS handle visual verification and forensic review.

Johnson Controls also highlighted the latest C·CURE IQ platform for enterprise access control and video management, and PowerG+, an update to the PowerG wireless sensor technology used in DSC panels. PowerG+ extends the reliable long-range encrypted communication between sensors and control panels that makes wireless perimeter sensor deployment practical at sites where hardwired connections are difficult or cost-prohibitive.

The integrated platform approach reflects a broader market shift. Buyers — particularly in commercial, education, and healthcare verticals — increasingly evaluate security systems as unified platforms rather than discrete subsystems. For perimeter detection specifically, this means intrusion sensors that cannot integrate with a site's VMS or access control system face a narrowing addressable market.
